Description:
Acrosathe annulata is a tiny fly (10mm) and a common species on sandy soils, especially dunes.
It occurs in Western Europe, Northern Africa and Turkey.
It thanks its name "Stiletto Fly" to the relatively short stiletto-like antenna's.
I found this pair mating in the sand.
