Description:
The Bewick's Swan (Cygnus bewickii) is by some authors regarded as a single species but by others as a subspecies of the Tundra Swan (Cygnus columbianus).
Bewick's Swans breed on the Russian tundra in summer.
They spend the winter in their thousands either at the North Sea coasts of Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Ireland or at the coasts of eastern Asia.
