Checkered Keelback

Description:

The Checkered Keelback is a common non-venomous snake found in Asia.
They are both diurnal & nocturnal.
This snake is found in or near fresh water, such as flooded rice fields, ponds, lakes, marshes and rivers.
It feeds mainly on small fish and water frogs.
They are known to be very aggressive.
When threatened they attempt to bite, by flattening the head and the neck as a cobra.
