Chinese Three-keeled Pond Turtle

Description:

The Chinese Three-keeled Pond Turtle (Mauremys reevesii) is a turtle species that is broadly distributed in East Asia.
It can be recoqnized by the three distinct keels, or ridges, running down the length of its back.
These turtles are "semi-aquatic"; they spend a great amount of their time on land. Hatchlings are most of the time in water, but when they grow older they tend to prefer the land.
