Description:
The Clouded Silver (wingspan 27-34 mm) is unmistakable: a white moth showing some black smears (highly variable), especially near the tip of the forewings.
Usually the females are marked more weakly than the males.
The females have wire-like antennae, while those of the male are feathered.
This is a species normally associated with woodland, bogs, hedgerows and occasionally gardens.
