Crested Toad

Description:

The Crested Toad (or Double Crested Toad) is endemic to Indonesia and is found in Sumatra, Java, Madura, Bali, and Lombok, as well as having been introduced in Sulawesi.
It occurs at lower elevation (up to 700 m) in both primary and secondary forest, as well as in areas of human habitation on Bali and Lombok.
The Crested Toad has two elongated supraparietal ridges between its eyes and the species' name is derived from these ridges.
The similar looking Asian Common Toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus) that also occurs on Bali (see here) can be distinguised by having a much smoother skin on its forehead and more pronounced ridges above its eyes.
