Description:
Cryptocephalus bipunctatus is a black and orange-red beetle, but markings can be rather variable.
It may have one black longitudinal band on each elytron, or the band may be broken to form two spots, usually one on the 'shoulder' and one in the centre of the elytron.
The pronotum and legs are black.
Cryptocephalus bipunctatus can easily be confused with Cryptocephalus vittatus.
However, C. bipunctatus has a small black line in the middle of its back while with C. vittatus this line is much wider.
Cryptocephalus bipunctatus has a 4 - 6 mm body length.
