Graphopsocus cruciatus (Barkfly sp.)

Description:

Graphopsocus cruciatus is a Bark Louse species and belongs to the order of Psocodea (Book Lice and Bark Lice).
Book Lice and Bark Lice actually have nothing in common with the other 'lice', but are very primitive insects.
Book Lice are commonly found amongst old books and feed upon the paste used in binding.
Bark Lice are found on trees and feed on fungi, pollen, algae and lichens.
Somehow this tiny Graphopsocus cruciatus (usually 1-5 mm) landed on my hand.
It was approximately 2-3 mm large and absolutely the smallest animal on my website.
