Greater White-fronted Goose

Description:

In summer, Greater White-fronted Geese breed in the large tundra areas in northern Europe, Asia and North America.
In autumn, family groups migrate in large formations to Europe, where they mainly spend the winter in Northwest and Southeast Europe.
The Greater White-fronted Goose is very similar to the much more rare Lesser White-fronted Goose.
The Lesser White-fronted Goose is slightly smaller and shorter necked with a rather small, stubby bill and a distinct narrow yellow eyering.
In addition, the white forehead patch of the Lesser White-fronted Goose extends higher up onto its forehead.
