Description:
Green Honeycreepers (Chlorophanes spiza) are brightly colored tanagers found from southern Mexico to Brazil.
One of the most distinctive features of this species is the slender, slightly decurved bill, which is mostly yellow.
Sexes are similar in size, but the male is brighter, bluer green in color, with a broad black mask.
The female is uniform green and has no black plumage around the head.
Juveniles of both sexes resemble the females, but are paler and duller in color; their belly is more grayish.
