The wingspan of the Grey Pine Carpet (Thera obeliscata) is 28–36 mm.
It is highly variable in ground colour, ranging from grey-brown to a light sandy-brown.
The central cross band is usually dark in colour and contrasts with the ground colour.
This species prefers settled pine forests.
