Indian Peafowl

Description:

Indian Peafowl are native to India and Sri Lanka but have been introduced into many parts of the world.
Yala National Park is Sri Lanka's largest National Park and is best known as a good place to spot wild Indian Peafowl.
Where ever they are living in the wild or in captivity, they are sometimes considered a nuisance because of their noisiness (loud, high-pitched calls).
The Indian Peafowl is the national bird of India where this superb bird is a sacred and protected bird found in many villages.
