Italian Sparrow

Description:

The Italian Sparrow (Passer italiae) is found in Italy and other parts of the Mediterranean region.
The male's appearance looks like something between a Spanish Sparrow and a House Sparrow: it has a brown cap but no black striping on its belly.
The female Italian Sparrow is generally indistinguishable from the other two species.
There has been some debate whether the Italian Sparrow should be considered a full species or just a subspecies of either the House Sparrow or Spanish Sparrow.
Like many experts, I recognise it as a separate species.
