The Lesser Short-nosed Fruit Bat (Cynopterus brachyotis) is a small bat with large eyes and a dog-like face.
It is easily recognized by the white wing bones and white ear edges.
The male has a reddish collar while the female has a yellowish collar.
The Lesser Short-nosed Fruit Bat is similar to the Greater Short-nosed Fruit Bat (Cynopterus sphinx) which latter has generally longer forearms, longer ears and a much longer skull. 
The Lesser Short-nosed Fruit Bat is among the most commonly seen bats in Singapore.
