Nicrophorus vespilloides (Burying Beetle sp.)

Description:

There are four similar species in the Netherlands, but Nicrophorus vespilloides is the only one to have all black antennae.
Being one of the burying beetles, it's diet is carrion (dead small animals and birds) which it buries in the ground to provide a food source for the young once they hatch.
