Pamphobeteus is a genus of tarantulas (family Theraphosidae) native to northwestern South America: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. It includes some of the largest spiders in the world.
They are sometimes referred to as Chicken Tarantulas.
