Platydracus stercorarius (Rove Beetle sp.)

Description:

Platydracus stercorarius is an impressive, colourful and quite large (up to 20mm) Rove Beetle.
It is found in Central and Northern Europe.
There is another species that looks very similar: Staphylinus caesareus.
This one does not have silver colored stripes, but gold colored ones and is larger (20 to 26 mm).
This species can be found in Central and Southern Europe.
