Pyrausta purpuralis (Crambid Snout Moth sp.)

Description:

Pyrausta purpuralis is very similar to the related Pyrausta aurata, a slightly smaller moth with similar golden spots which usually do not touch each other as in Pyrausta purpuralis.
The most obvious difference is that Pyrausta purpuralis has a large round spot above the narrow band on the underwings which is absent with Pyrausta aurata.
