Salatis sp. (Spread-winged Skipper sp.)

Description:

This is a female.
David Geale, an expert on neotropical butterflies and particularly on the species in Tatamá National Park, helped me identifying this butterfly. I was very fortunate to meet David at the Montezuma Lodge in Tatamá National Park at the time we were visiting. He told me that it he had never seen a Salatis species and it therefore could be an undescribed species. They are poorly known and probably al least partly nocturnal.
