Description:
The Shaded Broad-bar (Scotopteryx chenopodiata) is quite variable in color, but fairly easy to spot.
The forewings are a solid tan or dull brown with a distinct darker brown cross band.
This cross band consists of a number of narrower bands, of which the middle one is lighter and often has a grayish tint.
Usually there is a dark oblique line in the wing tip (as clearly visible on the 1st and 2nd photo).
