Spilostethus pandurus is a species in the family Lygaeidae, subfamily Lygaeinae.
Like other Lygaeidae, Spilostethus pandurus has an annual life cycle consisting of an egg followed by five successive nymphal stages before becoming an adult.
The adult Spilostethus pandurus looks quite similar to Lygaeus equestris and Lygaeus simulans but the red and black pattern on the shields is slightly different.
This species can be found in south and eastern Europe and in parts of Asia.
