Straw-headed Bulbul

Description:

The Straw-headed Bulbul is critically endangered globally and heavily trapped across Southeast Asia due to high demand in the bird trade for its distinctive and melodious singing.
Though numbers in neighbouring regions have declined (the bird is even extinct in Thailand and most likely extinct in Myanmar and Java!), the Straw-headed Bulbul population in Singapore has remained relatively stable.
Since 2019, Birdlife International and several local bird conservation groups are working together to identify key actions to further conserve this species in Singapore.

I was extremely lucky to find a couple in a tree near the visitor centre at Sungei Buloh and two other local birdwatcher were extremely happy that I found this very rare bird and showed it to them.
