Description:
Trachelophorus is a genus of weevils in the leaf-rolling weevil family Attelabidae. Several species are known as giraffe weevils because of their elongated "necks".
The best known species is Trachelophorus giraffa (Giraffe-necked Weevil) which is endemic to Madagascar. The long neck of the male is adapted for rolling a leaf to make a case for the single egg layed by the female.
