Variable Dancer

Description:

Argia is a genus of damselflies of the family Coenagrionidae and of the subfamily Argiinae.
They are commonly known as dancers.
Dancers are quite active and alert damselflies.
The bluer Argia species may be confused with Enallagma species.
The Variable Dancer (Argia fumipennis) is native to North America, where it is widespread throughout the east and present in the interior western United States.
The male of the Violet Dancer is purple with a blue tip.
