I found this - still young - species in the middle of the road within Brazos Bend State Park.
Obviously this is a very poisoneous snake so I had to approach it with care.
You see on the first photo it is hissing at me, trying to say don't come too close or I'll bite you.
After about 5 minutes posing for some nice photos it finally took off in the grass.
