Description:
The Western Conifer Seed Bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) is originally from the USA and introduced into Europe in 1999.
It is fairly big: 2 cm long.
This bug of the family Coreidae feeds on pines and is attracted to light and may enter buildings in search of hibernation sites.
Leptoglossus occidentalis is unable to bite or sting but it will give off a strong odor as defense if molested.
