White Wagtail

Description:

Eleven subspecies of the White Wagtail (Motacilla alba) are currently recognised and they all have slightly different plumages.
This is the subspecies Motacilla alba leucopsis which is the most common subspecies in Thailand.
It is sometimes also called the Amur Wagtail.
It has a black back, a large white wing panel, a white face and just a black breast band.
It breeds in central and eastern China, Korean Peninsula, Taiwan and Japan and winters in southern Asia and India.
