Yellow-spotted Honeyeater

Description:

The Yellow-spotted Honeyeater (Meliphaga notata) can easily be confused with the Cryptic Honeyeater (Microptilotis imitatrix).
However, the pale yellow cheek patch on the Cryptic Honeyeater is circular while the Yellow-spotted Honeyeater has an oval cheek patch.
In addition, the Cryptic Honeyeater usually flicks his wings all the time and the Yellow-spotted Honeyeater doesn't.
Adults Cryptic Honeyeater also have a blue-gray eye while Yellow-spotted Honeyeater has a brown eye.
Lastly, the Cryptic Honeyeater has a thinner and noticeably down-curved bill.
