There are 9 recognized subspecies of the Montane Woodcreeper (Lepidocolaptes lacrymiger).
Lepidocolaptes lacrymiger sanctaemartae is found in the Santa Marta mountains of North Colombia.
Lepidocolaptes lacrymiger sneiderni is found in the Andes of West Colombia.
