York, UK - February 2019
In February 2019, my wife Marinka and I visited our friends that were living in York at that time for a long weekend.
We visited the lovely medieval old town of York, including its awe-inspiring York Minster, one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in the world.
In between all the beautiful architecture I managed to find some lovely birds like this European Green Finch and Long-tailed Tit.
On 16 February, we took a lovely coastal walk along a section of the Cleveland Way from the lovely Runswick Bay to Whitby. We passed stunning beaches and dramatic cliff tops which held some pairs of Northern Fulmar.
On one early morning I visited Wheldrake Ings Nature Reserve, a lovely wetland reserve near York. There is a walking trail along a loose stone path through this natural floodplain and there are several hides from where you can view the birds, especially ducks and geese. I was lucky to find a single male Bullfinch that was foraging in the trees.
