Combloux & Evian, France - March 2019
In March 2019, I had my annual skiying trip to Combloux, France with seven of my friends.
This year's weather wasn't as sunny as in previous years and somehow the birds didn't show themselves as they used to. Best bird this year and a new one for my France page was a single male Yellowhammer.
Because of the rainy weather I decided one afternoon to take the 1,5 hour drive down to Evian in search of birds in and around Lake Geneva and to visit my wife's sister who lives nearby with her family. The weather in Evian was so much better than in Combloux and while walking near the edges of Lake Geneva I soon found all kinds of interesting birds in the lake like Red-crested Pochard and Common Merganser.
That afternoon I had a lovely lunch with my sister-in-law's family and had a wonderful time at my brother-in-law's goat farm where I was so lucky to witness the spectacle of many baby goats just being born.
Have a look at my photos under France.
