Description:
Ommatoiulus moreleti is a distinctive robust millipede, typically darkly pigmented with pink legs and antennae.
Immatures are paler in colour.
Ommatoiulus moreleti is widespread in Portugal and western Spain.
It has been introduced to the Macaronesian Islands, Bermuda, South Africa and notably Australia, where it is known as a pest.
We have encountered quite many of them, especially on the walls outside of our guesthouse.
