From 31 August - 3 September 2022 my wife and I visited the Belgian coast at Middelkerke, a 3-hour drive from our house in Hilversum.
While my wife enjoyed the beach and the sun, I made several walks along the waterfront and a few places inland to look for birds and other animals.
One of those places is Viconia Kleiputten, a wetland nature reserve in Stuivekenskerke in the Belgian province of West-Vlaanderen.
Here I took a nice walk on the beautiful hiking trail and photographed, among other things, a Red Kite, a pair of Cattle Egrets near some cows, a group of Eurasian Spoonbills and a family of Long-tailed Tits.
