Chalkhill Blue

Description:

The Chalkhill Blue (Lysandra coridon) is a small butterfly that can be found throughout Europe, North Africa and northern Asia, where it occurs primarily in grasslands rich in chalk.
The top of the male's wings is light grayish blue with broad black margins; the female is brown and rarely blue pollinated.
The underside of the wings is white-grey in the male.
In the female, the underside of the forewing is light brown and that of the hindwing is dark brown.
