Description:
The genus Alluaudinella includes moderate to robust and large flies, usually yellow to rufous.
The eyes are widely separated in both sexes, but less so in the male than in the female.
Alluaudinella species are confined to the Afrotropical region and are known from 6 species.
Adults are often seen in human faeces in the bush or in the forests to which the flies are restricted.
Alluaudinella bivittata is easily recognized by the two elongated black spots on the mesonotum (back of the fly) along the dorsocentral row of setae (hairs).
